The US Department of Transportation has stated that it will be giving $69 million to a total of 127 aviation manufacturing and repair companies. The funds will be granted under the Covid-19 relief program approved by Congress in 2021.
The US Department of Transportation has given $673 million in grants to the aviation manufacturing industry. The award grants have been distributed in 3 tranche rounds. Under some of the guidelines in attaining the funds, employers cannot furlough without the consent of the employee(s) or layoff the employee with the proper notification and consent of the employee(s).
The award grants will help assist 31,000 manufacturing jobs in 43 states in the United States. -SB
