Founder of fashion brand Off-White and menswear artistic director at Luis Vuitton (LVMUY); Virgil Abloh has died of an aggressive and rare form of cancer, called cardiac angiosarcoma. He had been battling cancer for over two years privately.

Abloh hailed from Chicago, Illinois and his background is of Ghanian ancestry. He first collaborated with Kanye West, and the duo helped revolutionize fashion in ways others would not have perceived. Virgil would take the helms of Off-White and revolutionize streetwear and high fashion as it related to urban culture. His sense of fashion and couture would catch the eyes of Louis Vuitton (LVMUY) head; Bernard Arnault and Mr. Arnault and his executive team would make Mr. Abloh; creative director and head of Louis Vuitton’s menswear.

Virgil Abloh had that fashion aura that many celebrities and athletes respected and admired. His death will be a big void to fill in the fashion and entertainment world. -SB
